Rule of the Viper Stepmother

Rule of the Viper Stepmother Plot

Once notorious throughout the city as the "Black Widow," Vesper Capone was used by her heartless birth family as a bargaining chip to curry favor with a mafia boss—forced into a proxy marriage with the rumored brutal and bloodthirsty mafia widower, Vincenzo Lucchese. Yet on her wedding day, there was only a cold proxy and a hall full of mockery; the groom was away in the Golden Triangle.

Carrying the goal of seizing power and completely breaking free from the Capone family, Vesper steps into the Lucchese estate—only to accidentally witness a shocking scene: a 12-year-old brat pushing a 3-year-old little girl into the swimming pool. After saving the little girl, Vesper discovers that although the estate appears impossibly wealthy, undercurrents surge beneath the surface—the two young children left behind by Vincenzo's sacrificed older brother (Dante and Sienna) are being ruthlessly abused and exploited by a venomous great-aunt and an extremely biased matriarch (Nonna).

Vesper, who never plays by the rules, decides to become that "most ferocious devil." She thrashes the brat, slaps the venomous aunt, freezes the corrupt accounts, teaches her bullied stepson to fight back, and with extreme methods shields the two children from the storm. In the perilous family infighting, she seizes control into her own hands. When Vincenzo returns covered in blood, what awaits him is no longer a puppet bride to be slaughtered at will, but a venomous "godmother" who treats the children as her own and has rewritten the family rules. From a tentative alliance of interests to a blood-soaked pact of life-and-death devotion, Vesper—with unmatched ruthlessness and the deepest, purest protection—ultimately becomes a legendary female godfather on equal footing with the king of the mafia.
