She Called for Her Dad Three Times

She Called for Her Dad Three Times Plot

At her daughter Poppy's graduation, Nora watches her call "Dad" three times-only to be met
with an empty chair.
A few hours later, Nora spots her husband, Elliot, at the mall celebrating the birthday of Maisie,
the daughter of college-the ex-wife he never seemed to get over. The same man who is always
too busy for his own family, and who claims he's no good with kids, is tying another little girl's
shoes, carrying her on his shoulders, and treating her with the patience of a perfect father.
Nora soon realizes this wasn't just one missed event. For eleven years, the more capable and
understanding she became, the easier it was for Elliot to leave the family-and their daughter—
in her hands, while giving his most attentive and dependable side to people who seemed to
"need" him more.
This time, Nora stops making excuses for him. She files for divorce.
During the ninety-day legal waiting period, Elliot is forced to learn what it really means to be a
father, while Nora begins reclaiming the life she put on hold for their marriage.
But by the time Elliot finally becomes the dad Poppy has always waited for, is it already too late
for him to become the husband Nora needed?
