When Love Sailed Away

When Love Sailed Away Plot

Xavier Shaw's secretary was pregnant.
On the night of our ninth anniversary dinner, he brought her home.
Then, as if it were the most normal thing in the world, he turned to me and said, “She’s picky about food. From now on, make sure none of her three meals a day are repeated.
“She scares easily, and she needs someone with her when she sleeps. Pack your things and move to the guest room.”
I said nothing.
I simply picked up the suitcase I had packed long ago and walked calmly toward the front door.
The butler tried to stop me, but Xavier let out a cold laugh.
“Let her throw her little tantrum. She won’t last three days before she comes crawling back.”
Everyone burst out laughing.
Right in front of me, they made a ten-million-dollar bet.
They bet I wouldn’t even make it through the night before I came back like a pathetic stray dog, crying and begging Xavier to let me back in.
But none of them knew.
The Maybach arranged by another man was already waiting outside.
This time, I was really leaving.
